Exergen Global enables Syneron to deliver advanced aesthetic treatments

Syneron’s Award Winning VelaShape III Selects the Exergen Micro IRt/c Sensor to Reduce Treatment Time and Improve Results

WATERTOWN, Mass., and ZIJTAART, the Netherlands, May 28, 2014 - Exergen Global, the worldwide value added supplier and solutions provider of Exergen’s corporate line of infrared, non-contact, temperature sensors today announced that Syneron, a leading global aesthetic device company has selected the world’s smallest IRt/c sensor, Exergen micro IRt/c, to empower its new aesthetic treatments. Syneron manufacturers a range of electronic devices and associated products for dermatologists, plastic and cosmetic surgeons or any professional who conducts nonsurgical cosmetic procedures including body contouring, skin rejuvenation, cellulite reduction, acne, hair removal, wrinkle reduction, etc. Syneron’s VelaShape is the only FDA cleared device that effectively and safely contours, shapes and slims the body by reducing cellulite and firming problem areas.

In Q4 2013 Syneron announced the availability of the award-winning VelaShape III, which integrates Exergen’s non-invasive IR temperature sensor into the applicator. This sensor continuously measures the patient’s skin temperature without interfering with the treatment. When the sensor detects that the skin temperature is reaching a critical limit, the specialist is informed by a pre-alarm and the treatmenttime or intensity can be adjusted accordingly to avoid patient discomfort. “We understand today’s hectic lifestyle and are dedicated to providing patients and professionals with non-surgicaltools for full body treatments including circumferential and cellulite reduction options. In order to reduce treatment time while simultaneously improving results for our VelaShape platform we needed to increase the speed of the RF pulses and IR lamps, however we required technology that would not over heat a client’s skin,” said Shlomo Assa, president of Inlight Corporation, a division of Syneron Ltd. “Simply said, Exergen Global’s Micro IRt/c sensor provided us with a proven non-contact IR temperature sensor that avoids overheating a patient’s skin while providing a smooth treatment. ”In today’s competitive environment, we recognize that organizations rely on science and technology to stay ahead. We designed our Micro IRt/c sensor to be the smallest IR sensor to fit into confined spaces, self-powered so it would not require a power supply and be maintenance free so it would not need to be recalibrated while it was in the field,” said Dr. Pompei founder and CEO of Exergen Corp. “During the R&D phase we partnered closely with Syneron to ensure that our non-contact infrared sensor met the technical and size requirement needs of the VelaShape platform. We are extremely proud we were able to provide a customized but scalable solution that met their business needs.”
